A New Twist on a Classic!
Deconstructed Stuffed Cabbage

I saw that Stuffed Cabbage or Cabbage Rolls as some call them have started a trend.

A trend to "deconstruct" them.
One of this Blog's Fave Recipe's is my "Stuffed Cabbage"
So much so. that the photo tutorial has been a Pinterest sensation for quite a while!
I understand that Cabbage Rolls can be laborsome, but I have always thought the work was so worth it.

It's genius to think that deconstructing Cabbage Rolls could be an innovative way to bring a Traditional "Sunday Dinner" to the Weeknight Table.
My query was though, will it still be the same? Will it have the same deep flavor of the cabbage, meat and rich comfort food goodness? I had to try it for myself. I found that it was indeed a Great idea! The only thing I would do differently is make the sauce ahead of time and let it sit in the fridge overnight. That might deepen the flavor. Even oven baking doesn't do the same as Whole wrapped roll favorite. Don;t get me wrong. Was it "Good Enough"? You betcha! Is this a Great weeknight meal! Absolutely. Does it take the place of a Sunday Dinner Classic? No. But, it is a Fantastic Idea and I surely will make it again and again!
You will find in the following my newest version of a Sunday Dinner Classic.

The Cookie Swap has begun...

I think my most favorite part of the Holiday season is the exchange of traditions. Cookies have always been a big part of my Holiday season. My Mom use to make dozens and dozens of Oatmeal Raisin Cookies for Christmas.

When I became an adult and ran my own home, I made several different kinds of cookies. From simple Italian Fudge Cookies to Elaborately Decorated Sugar Cookies.

After My Mom passed away I started to make Cookie Parcels and send them to my immediate family for Christmas. The packages were complete with everything My Mom use to put on her Holiday table. From Nuts to Candles, I sent all the trimmings. After the first year I just had to send the cookies. They became something everyone looked forward to and were sorely missed if not sent.

My family has moved on to having their own traditions now and I am down to sending 3 parcels...I was thrilled in July when I presented the idea to the Food is Love Friends on Facebook and they responded with an overwhelming and resounding YES!!!

I came up with the idea that I would like to start a Cookie Swap with the Food is Love Friends on Facebook. It was an immediate Hit!!! I received over 100 responses in 1 Day!
Yesterday "Officially" started the Cookie Swap with an email to the 80+ participants! The first of many interactions that include a call for information about the participants cookies..What their Cookies taste like, What they contain, How many people they'd like to swap with and What area of the World they'd like to swap cookies with? How Fabulous is this?!?! Can you imagine the ability to Swap with other countries?? What would a cookie taste like from Greece, Australia or Africa?

Please take the time to stop by the Cookie Swap Webpage and let us know what you think :)
We'll be having Cookie Recipe postings, Giveaways, Info on how to Ship Cookies Safely and Keep them Fresh! It is definitely going to be a Blast!

If you'd like to participate: Please stop by the Facebook Page and let us know, I'm sure we'd love a few more Cookies to choose from!!!
